Remote CCTV monitoring is an affordable high level security solution to protect your building and assets from intruders, theft and criminal damage, providing you with total peace of mind.
What is Remote CCTV Monitoring?
Remote CCTV Monitoring is a service designed to closely monitor and action any emergency services response where necessary. Remote CCTV Monitoring is event triggered and uses an internet connection to take the images your CCTV cameras are picking up in real time, and send them to an external remote monitoring station. These remote monitoring stations are specifically designed to respond rapidly to any suspicious activity, protecting your business or property from criminal damage.
How Does Remote CCTV Monitoring Work?
Remote monitoring solution links your CCTV system directly to a remote monitoring station (RVRC), allowing round-the-clock surveillance and monitoring of your premises. Once the system is set up, images are transmitted from the CCTV cameras to the RVRC. Remote CCTV Monitoring gives your security cameras the ability to be moved and manipulated remotely. Within seconds of your system being triggered, a camera will focus automatically on the security threat or suspicious activity. Simultaneously the system will transmit real-time images from the camera to the RVRC.
RVRC Response
At the RVRC, specially trained operators can control the camera’s position to identify an intruder who has activated the system. If there has been a security breach, the operator will assess the situation and take the appropriate action, such as notifying the police and/or the designated key holder.
Due to a high number of false alarms, emergency services do not always respond immediately to security alarms. However, with a remote CCTV system, false alarms are eliminated as security breaches are visually verified by an operator before they contact the emergency services. Once an RVRC operator has confirmed the breach, they notify the emergency services, which leads to an immediate response.
RVRC operators can also activate a live audio warning to potential attackers, alerting them that the police are on the way. In most cases, an audio warning will prevent criminal activity or damage to your property before it happens.
All staff are trained and licensed by the SIA (Security Industry Authority), the regulator of the private security industry in the United Kingdom, to ensure that your privacy is protected and the highest standards are maintained.

What Are The Benefits Of Remote CCTV Monitoring?
The primary benefits of remote CCTV monitoring include crime prevention, ease of evidence collection, secure arrests and real-time service contact. Remote CCTV surveillance brings all the positives of onsite monitoring with reduced costs, highly trained staff and prioritised emergency response.
Deterrence
Monitored CCTV systems have been shown to deter potential intruders before they attack. Sygma ensures peace of mind for building owners by informing intruders that they have been seen, followed and recorded.
Detection
Remote CCTV monitoring allows fast detection of security threats and breaches 24/7. Intrusion detection will be verified prior to the call out of emergency response to make sure that the services are only called for real emergencies.
Prevention
By having a remotely monitored CCTV system, crimes can be prevented before anything takes place. Through deterrence and detection of crime, intruders will be less likely to offend, knowing they are being monitored.
Response
If the worst is to happen and emergency services are required, a fast response is more likely to occur from a verified remote CCTV monitoring system. It's a worthy investment for the future of your business.
Secure arrests
Our monitoring team will contact the police or a security patrol if a CCTV rapid-deployment camera identifies criminal conduct, so they can respond to the scene and make an arrest. Because it is a documented active danger, a police request from one of our monitoring partners will be prioritised moving forwards.
Cost-effective
Remote CCTV cameras are up to 86% less expensive than a physical guard. With no need for an office within your building to house various monitors and a staff member to watch those screens, Sygma can do this all for you, providing only the necessary information so your business focus on what it does best.

UK Regulations About Remote CCTV Monitoring
All Sygma monitored solutions are designed to comply with the British Standard 8418 – an outline of which can be found below.
BS8418 is the standard for detector-activated remotely monitored CCTV systems in the UK. It was first published in 2003 and soon became endorsed by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in their security systems policy and as such is the only recognised way of obtaining a Police URN for such CCTV systems.
BS8418 has undergone a review, which is a formal procedure that occurs every five years for a British Standard. This review is conducted with industry key stakeholders, which include BSIA, and takes account of advances in technology, experiences gained in the application of the standard and other influencing factors to make it a more useable and beneficial standard.
