Gates and barriers
Automatic gate installation for commercial sites across the UK: new automatic gate systems, installations and replacements. Swing, sliding and bi-folding gates, with the intercoms, keypads, fob readers and ANPR that open them, from a free survey to commissioning.
Gate Safe aware installer. SSAIB certified.
What we install
Choosing the right gate depends on the space available on site, the volume of traffic you need to manage, your privacy requirements and the level of security needed.
Single and double leaf gates on ram or articulated arm operators. Generally cheaper to install and maintain than sliding gates, where there is clear space for the gate to swing open fully.
The answer where space is limited and a swing gate is not practical, on a tracked or a counterbalanced cantilever system.
Sliding gate installationSections fold like a concertina, so the gate opens quickly while taking up significantly less space. Well suited to high traffic sites where speed of access matters.
Intercoms, keypads, fob readers and ANPR cameras supplied and fitted by Sygma, so the gate opens for the right people and vehicles.
Old or failed gates stripped out and replaced with a new automatic gate system on the same entrance.
Gates can be linked to your access control, CCTV, intruder alarm and intercom systems for one joined up perimeter.
Access controlReplacements
If the gate on your entrance has failed or no longer suits how the site is used, we strip out the old gate and operator and install a new automatic gate system in its place.
A replacement is surveyed, specified and commissioned like a new installation, with every safety device proven before handover.

How it runs
The engineers who survey the entrance are the ones who install, commission and then maintain it, so nothing is lost between stages.
We walk the entrance with you, measure the opening, check the ground and power, and talk through who and what needs to get in and out.
A system specified for the traffic, the ground conditions and the risk assessment, with the safety devices it needs and a fixed quote.
Posts, operators, safety edges, photocells and loops installed and wired by our engineers, working around your site hours. On a replacement, the old gate is stripped out first.
Every safety device proven, the system handed over with its documentation and a demonstration for your team.
Planned servicing from day one, with 24/7 call-out from the same team.

Standards and safety
Every gate is CE marked and installed to BS EN 12978 and BS EN 12453, with the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations and Gate Safe guidance behind the design.
Safety in use
Set the force limits, safeguarding and safety devices a powered gate must meet.
Machinery compliance
A powered gate is a machine, so the regulations for machinery apply to it.
Aware installer scheme
Sygma engineers work to Gate Safe guidance on safe design, installation and servicing of automated gates and barriers.

Tell us about the entrance and the traffic it handles and we will survey it, design the system and quote.
Questions
We service and maintain them, whoever installed them.
Automatic Gate MaintenanceA swing gate on existing posts is usually a day or two on site. Sliding gates need groundworks and take longer, and lead times depend on the operators and gate leaves specified.
Yes. We strip out the old gate and operator and install a new automatic gate system in its place, surveyed, specified and commissioned the same way as a new installation.
It depends on the space available, the volume of traffic, your privacy requirements and the level of security needed. Swing gates need clear space to open fully, sliding gates suit sites where space is limited, and bi-folding gates open quickly in a small footprint. The free site survey settles it.
We supply and fit the access control that opens it: intercoms, keypads, fob readers and ANPR cameras, set up around who and what needs to get in and out. Gates can also be linked to your access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
